It’s a common fact that premature ejaculation in men causes emotional trauma and embarrassment. Leading researchers have been working aggressively to determine the effectiveness of Priligy (Dapoxetine) in treating premature ejaculation problem.

Priligy (Dapoxetine) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) drug. There are many long-lasting SSRI’s available in the market in the form of antidepressants. Priligy has been effective for premature ejaculation due to its short half-life of 1.2 hours. A male is able reach peak plasma level within a one-hour time span. Priligy leaves the body just as quickly as it is consumed in the body. Priligy is the optimal choice as they can take it only when required. Other SSRI’s, such as Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft need to be taken regularly in order to experience the full effectiveness of the drug. Other SSRI’s possess potential long-term side effects, like erectile dysfunction and reduced libido. Priligy does not accumulate in the body, thereby, diminishing the chances of erectile dysfunction, loss of libido or sexual desire.

In the clinical trials, the main concern from researchers about Priligy was the frequent occurrence of nausea among patients as an adverse side effect. Statistics show that around 20 percent men reported nausea during the treatment.
